Meth lab bust in Knox County

(Artemus, Ky.) -- On 12/23/2010 Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan responded to an anonymous tip of a meth lab operating in the community of Artemus, KY. Troopers Bryan Johnson and Jacob Wilson responded to the complaint and located several precursors outside of the residence in question. Contact was made with the occupants and consent to search was obtained for the residence. The search revealed eleven "one-step" meth labs, approximately ten pounds of possible finished product and several more precursors. KSP DESI-East and the Laurel County DPS responded to the scene to clean up the lab. Davis C. Mills Sr, age 54 of Artemus, KY was charged with eleven counts of Manufacturing Meth 1st offense, 35 counts of Possession of Meth Precursors 1st offense and eleven counts Theft of Anhydrous Ammonia with Intent to Manufacture Meth 1st offense. Mr. Mills was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
