Post Ten 2010 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

(Harlan, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police will be conducting a Citizenís Police Academy at each of the 16 postís across the Commonwealth. Post 10 Harlan is now accepting applications for the 2011 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin on Monday, January 10th and conclude March 21st, 2011. Students will meet Mondays from 6:30p.m.-9:00 p.m. where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.

The Academy will be held at the National Guard Armory at 30th Street in Middlesboro, KY 40965. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police Post 10 at 606-573-3131 or online at http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post10.htm. Anyone 18 years of age or older living within the Kentucky State Police Post 10 area of Knox, Bell or Harlan County is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend.
