Bell County Cold Case Murder Update

(Pineville, Ky.) -- On 11/10/2010 at 10:30 am, Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan arrested another suspect in the William Taylor murder case. Brian W. Hatfield, age 33 of Frakes, KY was charged with Murder and was lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. Mr. Hatfield was located in the Frakes community of Bell County, KY. Assisting with the location and apprehension of Hatfield was the Claiborne County Sheriff's Department from Tennessee.
At 12:50 pm, the Tennessee Highway Patrol was able to locate and arrest the fourth person in connection with the murder investigation. Candy Maiden, age 26 of Frakes, KY was arrested in Campbell County Tennessee and was transported to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office where she will await extradition to Kentucky for the murder of William Taylor.
This case is still under investigation by Trooper Tyson Lawson of Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.

(Pineville, Ky.) -- On 11/04/2010 at 3:30 pm, an indictment warrant was served in connection with the William Taylor murder case. Arrested was Deborah Partin, age 55 of Pineville, KY who was charged for Murder and then lodged in the Bell County Detention Center. Other arrests are still pending in this case.
This investigation continues by Trooper Tyson Lawson of Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.

(Pineville, Ky.) -- On October 20, 2010 at approximately 2:30 PM Trooper Tyson Lawson of Kentucky State Police Post 10 made an arrest in relation to a cold case murder investigation. After nearly a three year investigation Trooper Lawson charged Jeremiah Charles Evans age 36 of Pineville KY with Murder and Persistent Felony Offender 2nd degree. The investigation was initiated by Detective Mitchell Williams on Jan 15, 2008 when KSP Post 10 received a call of an elderly man being assaulted at his residence near the Frakes community of Bell County. Approximately a week later William Jacob Taylor age 92 died as a result of his injuries. The case was later reassigned to Trooper Tyson Lawson after the retirement of Detective Williams. Mr. Evans was arrested pursuant to an indictment warrant issued by the Bell County Grand Jury. Trooper Lawson was assisted by Trooper Ryan Sizemore and Lieutenant Micky Hatmaker. The investigation continues and other arrests are pending.
