Pursuit Arrest in Knox County

(Barbourville, Ky.) -- On 11-08-2010 at 2:30 pm, Trooper Jay Sowders observed a 2002 Ford Taurus operating recklessly in the community of Bimble, KY. Trooper Sowders attempted to stop the vehicle and the operator of the vehicle fled the scene. Trooper Sowders pursued the vehicle along with Trooper Alfred Bunch for approximately 17 miles on US 25E, KY 229, KY 1803, KY 1304 to KY 11 at the intersection of Pawnee Drive where the operator of the Taurus lost control and ran off of the roadway. The operator, Anthony Davis, age 33 of Barbourville, KY was apprehended and charged with the following; Reckless Driving, Fleeing and Evading 1st degree, DUI 2nd offense, three counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st degree, Resisting Arrest, No Insurance, Operating on a Suspended Operators License, Improper Passing and No Insurance. Mr. Davis was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center.
This incident is still under investigation by Trooper Jay Sowders and Sergeant Jimmy Young of Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.
