Marijuana Indoor Grow Operation Arrest

(Coldiron, Ky) -- On January 21st, 2010 after a month long investigation into an indoor marijuana grow operation, Detectives from Kentucky State Police Post 10, KSP Drug Enforcement Special Investigations East, Marijuana Suppression, and the Hazard HIDTA Drug Task Force executed three search warrants in Harlan and Perry Counties. During the search in Harlan County, the detectives
located a large indoor grow operation in the community of Coldiron, KY that consisted of approximately $10,000.00 in grow equipment, 21 cloned marijuana plants, five pounds of processed marijuana, $1566.00 cash, 2007 Chevrolet Corvette valued at $36,000.00 and a 2007 Ford F150 four wheel drive pick up valued at $24,000.00. The investigation then led to a storage building in Perry County where a large quantity of processed marijuana was seized.
Will Vanover, age 59 of Coldiron, KY was charged with felony marijuana cultivation, and felony trafficking, and lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center. This case is still under investigation by Detectives Jim Whitaker and Danny Clark of KSP Drug Enforcement Special Investigations East.
