Post Nine 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

(Prestonsburg, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police will be conducting a Citizen's Police Academy at each of the 16 post's across the Commonwealth this fall. Post 09 Pikeville is now accepting applications for the 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin on Thursday, October 8th and conclude December 17th. Students will then meet Thursdays from 6:30p.m.-9:00 p.m. where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.
The Academy will be held at the Prestonsburg High School located on KY. Rt. 321 Prestonsburg, KY. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police Post 09 (606) 433-7711 or online at http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post9.htm. Anyone 18 years of age or older living within the Kentucky State Police Post 09 area of Johnson, Floyd, Martin, Magoffin, Pike County is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend.
