Follow-up Regarding Skeletal Remains Located in Magoffin County

(Rock House, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police at Pikeville are continuing their investigation into the discovery of human remains in northern Magoffin County earlier this week. After consultation with the Kentucky State Medical Examiner's Office, state police have confirmed that the remains are those of Gregory G. Back, 29, formerly of Salyersville. Mr. Back was reported missing in 1989, at which time, KSP initiated a missing persons investigation. The case has remained active since the time of Back's disappearance. KSP is presently investigating Back's death as a homicide. Anyone having information concerning this investigation is asked to contact either Detective Ben Cramer or Lieutenant Sean Welch at (606) 433-7711.

(Rock House, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police received anonymous information that there were human remains in a body of water in the Rock House Community of Magoffin, Ky. The remains were retrieved and have been sent to the Kentucky State Medical Examiners Office for identification and to determine the manner of death. The case remains under investigation by Detective Ben Cramer of the Kentucky State Police as a death investigation.
