Big Sandy Regional Detention Center Investigation

(Pikeville, Ky.) - On 04/02/2009, investigators from Kentucky State Police Post 9 served a subpoena for official records at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville. This action was associated with an ongoing investigation into allegations of criminal activity involving operations at the facility, as well as a recent inmate death. KSP was assisted at the facility by officials from the Kentucky Department of Corrections, Kentucky Probation and Parole, and KSP DESI East Branch. The investigation is ongoing.
