A Pedestrian Killed on US 60

(Morehead, Ky.) -- At 6:10 pm on 12/04/2009, Kentucky State Police responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident on US 60 in Midland. Jerry Flannery was traveling eastbound on US 60, when the vehicle he was operating struck a female walking westbound on the eastbound shoulder. The impact of the accident sent Ms. Sheryl A. Williams into a ditch off the right shoulder of the roadway. Ms. Williams was transported to St. Claire Medical Center by Bath County EMS. She was pronounced deceased at the hospital by the Rowan County Coroner. Jerry Flannery was cited for non-traffic offenses. The accident remains under investigation by Trooper Hector Alcala.
