Post Eight 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

(Morehead, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police, Post Eight, is now accepting applications for the 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 11-week academy is slated to begin on October 26th, 2009 and conclude January 11th, 2010. Students will meet Monday from 6:00 to 8:30 where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.
The Academy will be held at the Kentucky State Police Post at Class Room C at the Carl D. Perkins Center in Morehead. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post Eight at 606-784-4127. Applications can also be obtained by visiting http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post8.htm. Anyone 18 years of age living within the Kentucky State Police, Post Eight district is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend.
