Barricade Incident in Grant County

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police, Grant County Sheriff Deputies, along with Grant County Emergency responders arrived at the Three Springs Motel at 1550 Owenton Road, unit #201, to check the welfare of Mr. James Randall Perkins, 37 years of age, of Corinth. Mr. Perkins was inside the room and did not respond to multiple requests to exit the room. Information provided to police indicated that Mr. Perkins had consumed alcohol in excess and was a potential danger to himself and others. After several hours of negotiation, the Kentucky State Police Special Response Team (S.R.T.) was activated and arrived on scene at approximately 1700 hours. At approximately 2130 hours, entry was made to the room and Mr. Perkins was taken into custody for the violation of Danger to Self and Others without incident. He will be transported to a medical facility for observation and evaluation.
