Bracken County Residential Fire Investigation

(Dry Ridge, KY) - On May 26, 2009, at approximately 0830 hours, The Kentucky State Police Post 6 Detectives along with Arson Investigator, Curtis Combs responded to a residential fire at 3714 Belmont Road in Brooksville, KY. The fire occurred during the early morning hours of May 25, 2009. Investigator Combs, Bracken County Fire Department, along with ATF are working collectively on the investigation to determine how the residence was destroyed. Any information that may aid in the investigation can be called anonymously to 1-800-272-7766, or 1-800-222-5555. The incident remains under investigation by Arson Investigator, Curtis Combs.
Update
Investigators from KSP Post 6 in Dry Ridge along with agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms have determined that the fire which destroyed the residence of Bracken County Magistrate, Neil Brumley had been intentionally set. They arrived at this conclusion after spending the day sifting through the ashes and debris of the residence where a liquid accelerant was discovered. During the initial investigation, a threatening letter towards the fiscal court members and with the County Judge Executive was discovered. The reward has been raised up to $11,000 for any information that may aid in the investigation.
