Meth Lab Arrests in Grant County

(Dry Ridge, Ky.) -- On May 23, 2009 The Kentucky State Police Post 6 in Dry Ridge, Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement Special Investigations Section, and the Williamstown Police Department responded to a residence at 19 Easy Street in Dry Ridge. The initial complaint received by Post 6 was of a burglary in progress. Upon entering the residence the responding officers noticed a strong smell that indicated the presence of a methamphetamine lab. During the course of the investigation officers found pre-cursors, an active methamphetamine lab and finished manufactured methamphetamine. James C. Willen, 28 years of age, of Williamstown and Lanny D. Slaughter, 33 years of age, of Dry Ridge were charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine, a Class B Felony punishable by 10-20 years in prison, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, a Class D Felony punishable by 1-5 years in prison. Both subjects were arrested at the scene and lodged in the Grant County Detention Center. The incident remains under investigation by Tpr. Chad Mills.
