Shooting Investigation and Arrest Near Bedford, Ky

(Campbellsburg, Ky.) -- On Sunday, December 27, 2009, troopers from Kentucky State Police Post 5 responded to a shooting at a residence on New Hope Road near Bedford. Upon arrival, the troopers discovered that Charles Irvin, age 24, of Bedford had been shot two times. Mr. Irvin was transported by an Air Methods helicopter to University of Louisville hospital where he is listed in stable condition. Through investigation, Robert L. Hillard, age 74, was located and arrested without incident. Mr. Hillard is charged with Assault, 1st Degree and Wanton Endangerment, 1st Degree. Mr. Hillard was lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.

The case remains open and under investigation by Detective Todd Harwood with the Kentucky State Police.
