Fatal Motorcycle Collision in Owen County

(Campbellsburg, Ky.) - On April 25th, 2009, at approximately 11:49 am, Kentucky State Police Post-5, Campbellsburg, received a '911' call in reference to a single vehicle motorcycle accident, with injuries, in Owen County. Tpr. Dusty Corbin responded as well as other emergency responders. Upon arrival it was determined that the single occupant of the motorcycle was gravely injured and he was transported to New Horizons Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Beverly Lane, going down a steep hill. As he came around a curve to the right he failed to negotiate the curve and went into a driveway where the motorcycle struck 2 parked vehicles. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as 60 yr. old Ernest G. Sebree of Taylor Mill, Ky., was ejected off of the motorcycle. He was not wearing a helmet. As of 4:00 pm, on April 25th, 2009, Post-5 has responded to 3 other injury accidents' involving motorcycles. We ask that motorists be aware of the motorcycles, and that the motorcyclists wear their helmets and be overly cautious. With the beautiful weather there will be more and more motorcycles out.
