Fatal Collision on I-71 in Gallatin County

(Campbellsburg, Ky.) - On March 29, 2009 at approximately 4:00 A.M. Post 5 was notified that a motor vehicle accident had occurred on I-71 at the 62 mile-maker southbound near the City of Glencoe in Gallatin County.

During the investigation it was determined that there were 4 vehicles involved in the accident. A driver of one of the vehicles, Jackie Wolfinbarger, 49, from Elsmere, KY was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Gallatin County Coroner Jack Hughes. The drivers of the other vehicles were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Trooper M. Corbin is continuing to investigate the accident. Kentucky State Police was assisted on scene by the Gallatin County Sheriff's office and fire and EMS units from Gallatin County.
