Update to the Two Killed & Two Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on Hwy 144

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- At 1545 hours on 12/08/2009 Carissa Foushee succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- Kentucky State Police responded to a two vehicle injury accident on Hwy 144 near Payneville. U/1 a 2005 Chevy Equinox being driven by Carissa Foushee, WF, 30 of Payneville was traveling westbound on Hwy 144 near Payneville. U/2 a 1997 GMC 6500 being driven by David Barr, WM, 56 of Payneville was traveling eastbound on Hwy 144.

Ms. Foushee's vehicle crossed the centerline striking Mr. Barr's vehicle head on. Two children Michael F. Foushee, 6 years of age of Payneville and Adison Foushee, 2 years of age of Payneville were occupants in Ms. Foushee's vehicle and were pronounced deceased at the scene by the Meade County Coroner. Ms. Foushee driver was transported to University of Louisville hospital with life threatening injuries. Mr. Barr had minor injuries and was treated and released.

The roadway was slick and ice covered at the time of the accident and was a contributing factor. All individuals involved were properly restrained in their vehicles.

The accident is being investigated by Trooper Brad Riley with the Kentucky State Police.
