One Killed and One Injured in a Two-Vehicle Collision

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On November 22, 2009, the Kentucky State Police responded to an injury accident at the intersection of Carter Brothers Road and Old Elizabethtown Road in Larue County . Unit 1, a 2000 Dodge Ram being operated by Joshua Burks, 23 of Hodgenville, Ky., was traveling south on Carter Brothers Road while Unit 2, a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am being operated by Geneva Taylor, 67 of Magnolia, Ky., was traveling east on Ky210. Mr. Burks failed to stop at the junction of Ky210 and Carter Brothers Road and Ms. Taylor struck Mr. Burks' vehicle on the rightside. Passengers in the vehicle of Ms. Taylor's vehicle, Austin Fletcher, 17, of New Haven was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, as well as Reed Farris, 64, of Magnolia was transported to Hardin Memorial with life-threatening injuries. Accident is being investigated by Trooper Brian Mouser.

On November 22, 2009 Reed Farris, 64, of Magnolia was pronounced dead at University of Louisville Hospital by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
