Two Injured in a Single Vehicle Collision on the Western Kentucky Parkway

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On October 27, 2009 at 8:33 P.M., Kentucky State Police in Elizabethtown received a report of an injury collision westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway at mile marker 123. A 1999 Buick Century operated by Phillip Morgan Jr., age 32 of Bardwell, Ky was traveling west on the parkway during a period of heavy rain. Mr. Morgan lost control of his vehicle and ran off of the right shoulder and down an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn. After overturning, the vehicle struck a tree. Mr. Morgan and a passenger, Phillip Morgan Sr., age 52 of Arlington, Ky were transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. KSP was assisted by Hardin County EMS, Elizabethtown Fire Department, and White Mills Fire Department. The collision was investigated by Trooper Brad Riley.
