One Injured in a Single Car Collision in Hardin County

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On 10/02/2009 at 6:44 P.M. Kentucky State Police was notified of a single vehicle injury accident in the area of 2927 Valley Creek Rd., in Hardin County. Unit 1 a 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis being operated by Barbara Wellons of Charlotte, TN was eastbound on Kentucky Highway 567 when it crossed the center line into on coming traffic, then made an abrupt right turn over corrected then left the right side of the roadway striking a tree, overturning and coming to a final rest in a water filled creek. Ms. Wellons was extricated from the vehicle by Valley Creek Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department, and Hardin County EMS and air lifted by Lifenet to University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.
