4 Injured in a Two Car Collision in Hardin County

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- On September 27, at 5:19 p.m. EST, Troopers from the Elizabethtown post of the Kentucky State Police investigated a two-vehicle accident, with injuries, at the intersection of US62 and KY84 in Hardin County. Troopers reported that a 2006 Ford Fusion, driven by Richard A. Ashby (age 46 of Louisville, Ky.), was traveling west on KY84 as it approached the US62 intersection in Eastview. Mr. Ashby reportedly slowed, but did not stop and proceeded into the intersection into the path of an eastbound 1993 Dodge Dakota, operated by Matthew L. Hayes (age 29 of Clarkson, Ky.). Both Richard Ashby and a front passenger, Jan G. Glisson (age 39 of Louisville, Ky.) suffered serious injuries and were flown to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Methods Air Ambulance. A second passenger in Ashby's vehicle, Mandy L. Ashby (age 21 of Shepherdsville, Ky.), suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hardin County EMS. Matthew Hayes suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by private means.
