Traffic Stop and Arrest on US 31E

(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- Tpr. Chad Taylor and Tpr. Jon Vaughn were patrolling US 31E in LaRue County just north of the city of Hodgenville. Tpr. Taylor initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on a probable cause violation of driving under the influence. Tpr. Vaughn was traveling behind Tpr. Taylor at the time of the traffic stop and he stopped to assist. While Tpr. Taylor was administering field sobriety tests to the driver, the above listed subject exited the vehicle and advanced towards the Troopers in an aggessive manner. The subject refused to comply with the Trooper's verbal demands to stop advancing towards them and to return to the vehicle. Tpr. Vaughn used non-lethal force (Taser) to gain control of the subject. The subject was taken into custody without further incident and without any injury. The subject was charged with Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, Menacing, and Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place 1st Offense and lodged in the LaRue County Detention Center.
