Injury Collision on KY 2780
Date of News Release: 06/29/2009
(Elizabethtown, Ky.) -- Unit 1, a 2000 Dodge Durango being operated by Andy Newsome, 53 years old from Webster, was traveling west on KY 2780. Unit 2, a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer being operated by Allie Butler, 18 years old from Harned, was traveling east on KY 2780. When the vehicles met Mr. Newsome was traveling on the wrong side of the road. The vehicles collided head on. Mr. Newsome was trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated. Mr. Newsome was transported to the University of Louisville by Life Net Medical helicopter for leg and chest injuries. Ms. Butler was transported to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital by the Breckinridge County Ambulance Service for leg and arm injuries. Both operators were wearing their seatbelts. The accident was investigated by Trooper Curtis Mouser KSP Post 4. Trooper Mouser was assisted by Breckinridge County Sheriffs Deputy Jimmy Gilpin, Breckinridge County Ambulance Service, Webster Fire and Rescue, and Life Net.
