Update to the Three Bodies in a Field Off of Happy Valley Road

Date of News Release: 11/23/2009

(Bowling Green, Ky.) --Three Hispanic males were located in a field in Barren County 3 miles east of Cave City by hunters. Barren County Sheriff's Office was first on the scene, and determined that it was a possible homicide. KSP Post 3 was notified and responded to the scene. There were seasonal farm workers that had recently vacated an adjacent residence. The workers were located and interviewed in reference to the investigation at Cave City Police Department. Two suspects were identified. One suspect was located in Cave City and the other in Allen County. Marcos Bautista, age 18, of Cave City was charged with Complicity to Murder, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Possession of Marijuana. Miguel A. Velazquez, age 21 of Cave City was charged with 3 Counts of Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Both men were lodged into the Barren County Detention Center. The three murder victims have not yet been identified. The investigation is ongoing.

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- On Sunday, November 22, 2009, The Kentucky State Police was notified by the Barren County Sheriffs Department regarding the discovery of three bodies in a field off of Happy Valley Road (KY 90), approximately one-half mile east of Cave City. Foul play is suspected. Due to the sensitive nature of the investigation, limited information is being released at this time.

The bodies were removed by the Barren-Metcalfe Ambulance Service and transported to the Medical Examiners office in Louisville where an autopsy is going to be performed early Monday.

The Barren County Sheriffs Department and the Barren-Metcalfe Ambulance Service also assisted in the investigation.
