Post Three 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- The Kentucky State Police, Post 3, in Bowling Green is now accepting applications for the Citizen's Police Academy. This learning opportunity will provide those in the class with an in depth look at the multiple aspects of the Kentucky State Police, as well as, an opportunity to interact with the Troopers that work in their communities. Some of the topics that will be covered are patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection.

The 11 week academy will begin on September 29th, 2009. The classes will be held on Tuesdays from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the Bowling Green Christain Church. The academy is set to conclude on December 8th, 2009 .

Anyone 18 years of age, or older, living within the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 District is welcome to apply. The KSP Post 3 District consists of Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Simpson, and Warren counties. The class will be limited to 25 students. There is no cost to attend and participants must attend 80% of the classes to graduate. All applicants will be subject to a background check.
