Injury Collision on I-65 in Hart County

Date of News Release: 09/07/2009

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Flora E. Igah was south bound on I-65 following behind an unknown white passenger car. Both vehicles approached congested traffic at the 70 mile marker south bound due to a prior hazmat vehicle accident at the 66 mile marker south bound. The unknown white passenger car approached Robert J Germick Jr in the left lane, which was stationary at the time. The unknown vehicle immediately switched into the right lane to avoid a collision. Flora E. Igah failed to see Robert J Germick Jr in which Flora E. Igah's vehicle struck Robert J Germick Jr's vehicle in the driver side rear. Robert J Germick Jr's vehicle then skidded approximately 125 feet while completing a 360 degree turn, and overturned on its top, where it came to a final rest. Flora E. Igah's vehicle continued into the median for approximately 157 feet were it came to a final rest. The William R Germick (passenger) of Robert J Germick Jr's vehicle was transported via air ambulance to Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Ky. were he is listed in stable but critical condition.
