Post 3 August 2009 Activity Report

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- The Post Commander, Captain Phil Crumpton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of August, 2009.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 2,211 citations of which 873 were for speeding and 6 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 191 citations for no seatbelts. Thirty-one people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 661 courtesy notices, investigated 71 accidents, of which 2 were fatal, and assisted 236 motorists, while inspecting 2,776 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,017 complaints, and opened 59 criminal cases, and made 279 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 760 special details and programs in August.

In August, the nine Communications Officers at Post 3, received and placed a volume of 13,487 requests.
