Injury Collision on I-65 in Hart County

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Randy L. Evans, Tammy L. Evans, Unknown (Unit 3) and Kerry L. Trambaugh were all traveling North on Interstate 65 near the 61 mile marker in Hart County in the left lane. Mr. Evans was in front on a motorcycle with a passenger pulling a small trailer. Mrs. Evans was behind Mr. Evans on a motorcycle riding solo. Unit 3 was traveling behind Mrs. Evans and Kerry L. Trambaugh was behind Unit 3. Traffic in the area of the 61 mile marker Northbound started slowing for an unknown reason. As Mr. Evans started slowing down his motorcycle the trailer started swerving side to side causing Mr. Evans to loose control of his bike. Mr. Evans's bike went down on its side causing the trailer to brake away from the bike. As Mr. Evans went down both occupants were thrown from the bike. Randy L. Evans was struck in the head by his trailer as it passed the bike. Mrs. Evans in an attempt to avoid striking Mr. Evans lost control of her bike and went down causing her to be thrown from the bike. As Mrs. Evans went down she struck Mr. Evans's trailer before coming to a final rest. As Unit 3 slowed their vehicle to avoid striking the motorcycles he was struck in the rear by Mr. Trambaugh's vehicle. After impact Unit 3 steered away from the motorcycles and continued north without stopping. As Mr. Trambaugh steered left in an attempt to avoid a collision with Unit 3 he stated he saw the passenger of Mr. Evans#39; motorcyel in the emergency lane on her knees. After impact Mr. Evans came to a final rest in the left lane on its left side. Mrs. Evans came to a final rest in the left lane against the trailer slightly in front of Mr. Evans's bike. Unit 3 continued on north without stopping. Mr. Trambaugh came to a final rest in the emergency lane facing north. Mr. Evans and his passenger (Taylor Evans age 10) were both transported to Hardin Memorial Hospital by Hart County EMS. Mr. Evans was transported from Hardin Memorial Hospital to University of Louisville Hospital. Mrs. Evans and Mr. Trambaugh were both uninjured. The investigation continues.
