Injury Collision on I-65 in Warren County

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- Both units were southbound on I-65 at the above location. Jessica Orozco was in the far right lane, Duane Pickett was in the center lane. Ms. Orozco's vehicle made an abrupt lane change from the right lane merging into the center lane and struck the right front corner of Mr. Pickett's vehicle. After the initial collision, both units crossed the far left lane onto the emergency strip and went off the left shoulder of the roadway coming to final rest in the tree line. Mr. Pickett's vehicle came to final rest on the passenger side after overturning. Ms. Orozco's vehicle came to final rest just south of Mr. Pickett's vehicle with the front end against a tree. Mr. Pickett was air-lifted to Vanderbilt University Hospital to seek treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Southbound lanes of I-65 were closed for about 30 minutes to clean up the scene and caused a minor traffic delay. No other injuries were reported with this incident. Investigation is ongoing.
