Post 3 May 2009 Activity Report

(Bowling Green, Ky.) -- The Post Commander, Captain Phil Crumpton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of May, 2009.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 2,335 citations of which 533 were for speeding and 16 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 604 citations for no seatbelts. Forty-four people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 721 courtesy notices, investigated 101 accidents, of which 1 was fatal, and assisted 180 motorists, while inspecting 3,767 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1155 complaints, and opened 74 criminal cases, and made 247 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 695 special details and programs in May.

In May, the nine Communications Officers at Post 3, received and placed a volume 14,425 requests.
