Injury/Hazmat Collision on I-65 in Warren County

Date of News Release: 01/22/2009

(Bowling Green, KY) - Mark Pierce was traveling northbound on I-65 when his semi left the right side of the roadway, traveled through a ditch, and struck a tree prior to overturning. Mr. Pierce was transporting a highly flammable and combustible hazardous material. Emergency Management and hazmat teams determined that the hazardous material containers were in tact and there was no immediate danger to the public. Mr. Pierce was admitted to the Medical Center in Bowling Green where is he is listed in stable condition. One northbound lane of I-65 remained open throughout the incident. No southbound lanes were affected. All lanes of I-65 in the Post three district are open at this time.
