One Injured in a Two Vehicle Collision on US 431

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Patricia Knight, age 44 of Elkton, KY, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer southbound on US 431. Ms. Knight was stopped on US 431 waiting for a train to pass. Angela Cain, age 36 of Beechmont, KY, was operating a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix southbound on US 431 approaching Ms. Knight's vehicle. Ms. Cain was unable to stop in time and her vehicle rear-ended Ms. Knight's vehicle. Ms. Knight was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. There were no other injuries reported. All subjects were using restraints. Trooper Craig Engler investigated the crash. The Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
