Vehicle Rolls Over Owner in Dollar Store Parking Lot

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Dorothy Lucas, age 88 of Slaughters, KY, had just been involved in a minor crash with another vehicle in the parking lot of the Dollar General Store in Hanson. As Ms. Lucas exited her vehicle, she did not properly place it in park. The vehicle began to roll forward. Ms. Lucas was in front of her vehicle and was unable to move out of the way. The vehicle rolled over Ms. Lucas trapping her underneath it. Jeff's Towing and emergency services personnel had to remove the vehicle off of Ms. Lucas. She was placed into an ambulance and transported to a waiting helicopter which flew her to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville, IN for treatment. Trooper First Class John Komar investigated the collision. Hanson Fire & Rescue, Medical Center Ambulance Service, PHI Air Medical, and Jeff's Towing assisted at the scene.
