Single DUI Vehicle Collision on the Western Kentucky Parkway in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Kenneth McKnight, age 49 of St. Charles, KY, was operating a 2005 Ford F-150 westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway. Another motorist contacted the KSP and reported that Mr. McKnight's vehicle was driving erratically. His vehicle had struck a guardrail and entered the median several times, but continued traveling westbound. Mr. McKnight traveled to approximately the 27 mile-marker where his vehicle exited the westbound shoulder and struck a guardrail. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top down an embankment. Mr. McKnight was transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was charged with DUI 1st Offense and cited to court due to his injuries. Mr. McKnight was wearing a seat belt. Trooper Nick Rice investigated the crash. KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Dawson Springs Police Department, Hopkins County Sheriff's Department, Dawson Springs Fire & Rescue, Charleston Fire & Rescue and Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
