5 arrested for Making Meth in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, KY) -- On Wednesday, October 7, 2009, the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville received an anonymous tip in reference to illegal, drug activity taking place at a residence on Beagle Park Loop. At approximately 8:16 p.m., same date, Trooper Carlo Anderson and deputies from the Hopkins County Sheriff's Department arrived at the residence. Upon arriving, the officers detected a strong, chemical odor coming from inside the residence. After entering the residence, officers located methamphetamine and a meth lab in a back, bedroom. Officers also located ammonium nitrate, liquid fire, Coleman fuel, lithium batteries, coffee filters and other items used in the manufacturing process. Five subjects were arrested without incident and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. The Madisonville Police Department responded to the scene and performed the cleanup of the lab.
