Injury Collision Involving DUI in Muhlenberg County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Michael Gibson was operating a 1997 Dodge van westbound on KY 70 West when the vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle continued through a ditch and struck a driveway. It became airborne and struck a metal, mailbox post. The vehicle overturned several times ejecting the passenger, Brandace Gibson. It came to rest on its top off the roadway. Mrs. Gibson was flown by PHI to St. Mary's in Evansville, IN for treatment. Her husband, Michael Gibson, was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital where he was treated and released. He was charged with the offense of DUI 1st Offense-Drugs (Aggravated) and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center. Neither subject was wearing a seatbelt.
