Update to the Fatal Crash Involving Pedestrian in Todd County

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- The pedestrian was Alice L. Price, age 47. Her last, known address was Clarksville, TN.

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- A pedestrian was walking south in the southbound lane of travel in the travel portion of the roadway on US 79. David R. Strange was operating a 2010 International tractor-trailer southbound on US 79. He was hauling groceries. Due to the darkness, the heavy fog, and the pedestrian's dark clothing, Mr. Strange did not see the pedestrian walking in the roadway. The tractor-trailer struck the pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by the Logan County Coroner’s Office. Mr. Strange and his passenger, Gregory L. Anderson, were not injured. Mr. Strange was wearing a seat belt and Mr. Anderson was in the sleeper compartment. At the present time, next of kin has not been notified. Once notification has been made, the name will be released. The crash remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
