Injury Collision on Edward T. Breathitt (Pennyrile) Parkway

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Michael Pernesti was operating a 1999 Ford F450 utility truck. Mr. Pernesti had just arrived at the northbound, exit ramp at the 12 mile-marker on the Edward T. Breathitt (Pennyrile) Parkway to assist a dump truck that was experiencing mechanical problems. Mr. Pernesti had parked his utility truck partially in the roadway on the ramp. Daniel Gamblin was operating a 2003 Ford F150 northbound on the Edward T. Breathitt (Pennyrile) Parkway and exited at the same ramp. Mr. Gamblin was unable to avoid the utility truck. Mr. Gamblin's vehicle struck the rear of Mr. Pernesti's vehicle. Mr. Pernesti was transported by ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Gamblin was not injured.
