Hopkins County Felony Arrest

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at approximately 6:53 p.m., troopers observed Byron Lewis operating an ATV on Main Street in Nortonville. Sitting in front of Mr. Lewis on the ATV was his small son. Neither occupant was wearing protective headgear. When the troopers attempted to stop Mr. Lewis, he fled from them by traveling off the roadway and into a field. Mr. Lewis was located a short time later at his residence. He was arrested and charged with the offenses of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (D Felony), Fleeing/Evading Police 1st Degree-Motor Vehicle (D Felony), Operating ATV on Roadway (Violation) & Operating ATV without Headgear (Violation). He was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
