Webster County Criminal Investigation

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Trooper Oughton observed an ATV traveling north on US41. When Trooper Oughton attempted to stop the ATV, the subject went off of the roadway and overturned the ATV. The subject, who was later identified as Basil C. Stone, then fled into a wooded area on foot. Approximately 10 minutes later, Mr. Stone came out of the woods and gave himself up. Mr. Stone was arrested for Fleeing and Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Fleeing and Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot), Operating Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs (1st Offense) and lodged in the Webster County Detention Center.
