Hopkins County Drug Investigation

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Trooper Komar was conducting extra patrol at a location where methamphetamine labs have been found off of Pond River Collier Road. While in the area, Trooper Komar observed a car parked near the roadway. When Trooper Komar pulled up to the vehicle, a subject fled from the area near the vehicle. The vehicle was occupied by Darick Howton. Items consistent with the manufacturing of methamphetamine were found in and around the vehicle. Darick Howton was arrested and the subject who fled was recognized to be William "Coby" Howton, the brother of Darick Howton. Coby Howton was located a short time later, as units were leaving the scene, when Mr. Howton came out of the woods to ask for a ride from a KSP Detective in an unmarked vehicle. Both Darick and William Howton were arrested and charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Offense and both were lodged into the Hopkins County Jail.
