Date of News Release: 05/29/2009

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- Sharon Skinner was operating a 1989 Buick Regal northbound on US 41. Mrs. Skinner was reaching for a bottle of water when the passenger side tires dropped off the shoulder of the roadway. Mrs. Skinner overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed both lanes of travel and exited off the southbound shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle traveled across a yard and struck a fence before continuing onto the neighboring property. It struck a utility pole and a tree before coming to rest in an open field off the southbound shoulder of the roadway. Mrs. Skinner and her passenger, Robin Littlepage, were transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. Both ladies were wearing seat belts. Captain William Marks, Morton's Gap Fire & Rescue and the Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted Trooper Nick Rice at the scene.
