Hopkins County Felony Drug Arrest

Date of News Release: 05/03/2009

(Madisonville, Ky.) -- On May 2, 2009, at approximately 5:34 hours, Trooper Smith with the Kentucky State Police, was on routine patrol when he observed Thomas Shaver traveling on the Western Kentucky Parkway at a high rate of speed. Mr. Shaver's was stopped for traveling 101 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone. Mr. Shaver had 2 passengers in the vehicle, including his 14 month old baby. Trooper Smith arrested Mr. Shaver and charged him with Speeding 26mph or over on limited access, Reckless driving, Operating vehicle with expired operators license, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree (2 Counts). He was taken to the Hopkins County Detention Center where he was processed and lodged.
