Felony Drug Arrest in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, Ky.) - On April 18, 2009, at approximately 12:35 A.M., Trooper Smith was on routine patrol when he observed William Hawkins turn in front of him without using a signal. Trooper Smith initiated a traffic stop due to this violation. During the traffic stop, Mr. Hawkins was found to be under the influence of Methamphetamine. Through further investigation, Methamphetamine was located on Mr. Hawkins. As result of a vehicle search, a bag was located containing items that have been used in Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Trooper Smith arrested Mr. Hawkins and lodged him in the Hopkins County Detention Center. Mr. Hawkins was charged with Failure To or Improper Signal, License To Be In Possession, Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence 1st Offense, Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Offense, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree 1st Offense Methamphetamine.
