Todd County Felony Drug Arrest

Date of News Release: 04/04/2009

(Madisonville, KY) -- Trooper Jeff Ayres, Unit 268, initiated a traffic stop after Mr. Nathaniel M. Barber failed to signal a turn. Mr. Barber fled in his vehicle on Coal Bank Road. Mr. Barber struck a ditch with his vehicle and fled on foot from the collision. Mr. Barber was apprehended a short distance away from his vehicle. Trooper Ayres located several items used for the manufacturing of methamphetamine in Mr. Barber's vehicle. Mr. Barber was charged with Unlawful Possession of Meth Precursor 2nd or > Offense, Manufacturing Methamphetamine 1st Offense Facilitation, Drug Paraphernalia Buy/Possess 2nd or > Offense, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle), Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (On Foot), Operating Motor Vehicle Under Influence of Intoxicants 1st Offense Aggravated, Reckless Driving, Speeding, No Signal or Improper Signal, No/Expired Kentucky Registration Plate, No/Expired Kentucky Registration Receipt, Failure of Owner to Maintain Required Insurance, Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Mr. Barber was transported to and lodged at Todd County Jail.
