Fatal Collision on Jefferson Davis Highway in Todd County

(Madisonville, Ky.) - Jeremiah Putty was operating a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer westbound on West Jefferson Davis Highway. Tyler Dossett was operating a 1998 GMC Sonoma eastbound on West Jefferson Davis Highway. For an unknown reason, Mr. Putty's vehicle crossed into the eastbound lane and struck Mr. Dossett's vehicle head-on. Both vehicles came to rest on the roadway. Mr. Putty was transported by ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Putty was not wearing a seat belt. The passenger in Mr. Putty's vehicle, William Douglas-Rice, refused treatment at the scene, but was later taken in a private vehicle to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Douglas-Rice was wearing a seat belt. Mr. Dossett was transported by ambulance to the Jennie Stuart Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and passed. Mr. Dossett was wearing a seat belt. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police.
