Death Investigation of an Infant
Date of News Release: 03/30/2009
(Madisonville, Ky.) - On March 29, 2009 at 7:15 P.M. the Muhlenberg Community Hospital called the Kentucky State Police to report what they believed to be child abuse. The hospital stated that the child's grandmother had brought in the 1 year old infant for being unresponsive. After a examination by the Emergency room Doctor it was determined the child had a skull fracture an had some bruising on the forehead, cause is unknown at this time. Muhlenberg Community Hospital had the infant flown to Kosair's hospital in Louisville.
The Kentucky State Police has sent Troopers to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital and also sent Detectives to Kosair in Louisville. An investigation is being conducted by the Kentucky State Police as to the cause of the injuries to the infant.
At 11:20 A.M. on March 30, 2009 the infant passed away at Kosair's Hospital. Investigation is still on going as to the cause of death.
