Multi-Vehicle Injury Crash on KY 176 in Muhlenberg County

(Madisonville, Ky.) - Units 2 thru 6 (Barry L. Basham, Kristina N. Jones, Thomas W. McPherson, Corretta F. Ruiz & Beverly A. Burden) were traveling eastbound on KY 176. Those five vehicles were stopped on the roadway due to debris removal. Ronnie W. Jones was traveling eastbound on KY 176 approaching the stopped vehicles. Ronnie Jones, was unable to stop in time and rear-ended Barry L. Basham's vehicle. This caused a chain reaction. Unit 2 struck unit 3. Unit 3 struck unit 4. Unit 4 struck unit 5. Unit 5 struck unit 6. All six vehicles came to rest on the roadway. The passenger in unit 2 (Barry L. Basham), Francisco Hernandez, was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. The driver of unit 3, Kristina Jones, was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. The passenger in unit 4 (Thomas W. McPherson), Lyndell Fox, was transported by a private vehicle to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported at the scene. All drivers and passengers were wearing seat belts.
