Injury Collision on US 431 in Muhlenberg County

(Madisonville, KY) - Gene Shepherd was operating a 1988 Ford Ranger southbound on US 431. He was pulling a trailer loaded with debris. Harvey Eaton was operating a 2006 International coal truck northbound on US 431. The coal truck was empty. Mr. Shepherd's trailer began to weave back and forth causing him to loose control of his vehicle. Mr. Shepherd's vehicle crossed into the northbound lane and struck Mr. Eaton's vehicle. Mr. Shepherd's vehicle exited off the roadway and traveled into a ditch. Mr. Eaton was able to stop his vehicle on the roadway just north of the area of impact. Michael Forester, a passenger in Mr. Shepherd's vehicle, was transported by a private vehicle to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. No other injuries were reported. All subjects were wearing seat belts.
