DUI/Drug Arrest on KY 813 in Hopkins County

(Madisonville, KY) - On January 7, 2009, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Kentucky State Police troopers with the assistance of the Mortons Gap Police Department were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at a pre-approved location on KY 813 near Mortons Gap. John Allen was observed by the officers operating his vehicle towards the checkpoint. Through the course of his investigation, Trooper Smith located marijuana inside the vehicle and found Mr. Allen to be under the influence. Mr. Allen was arrested without incident and charged with DUI 2nd Offense & Possession of Marijuana. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
